My Dear Sisters and Brothers,
I want to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a Happy Thanksgiving. Celebrating this national holiday can sometimes seem forced. We are all aware of the many challenges we face as citizens of this country and the world. Daily we see and hear about examples of “man’s inhumanity to man” or those who suffer from the capricious nature of fate. But Thanksgiving Day is needed.
We need to celebrate our blessings and in gratitude for what we have, we need to recommit ourselves to the care of the “least of our brothers and sisters”. I invite you to begin your Thanksgiving Day celebration by joining Fr. Basil, other members of our parish family and me for Mass at 9:00 a.m. For you and I, as the People of God, Thanksgiving is not just a holiday, but a holy day. The Thanksgiving Day Mass will be live-streamed on our Corpus Christi YouTube channel  for those of you who will not be able to join us in person for the Liturgy.
Advent begins this weekend and below you will find a list Advent activities and Prayer Services that I strongly encourage you to attend. Advent is the Season of Preparation, but the busyness of this time of the year can distract us from a prayerful focus on the coming of Emmanuel. I hope that you will be to celebrate the Season of Advent with our parish family.
Fr. Leo
